Teaching

Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace. ---Confucius

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. ---Benjamin Franklin

Human beings are influenced and shaped by a variety of forces. I see teaching, and college teaching in particular, as having the immense power to transform individuals and society as a whole. As a teacher of political science, I commit myself to communicating knowledge and ideas to inspire the future generations of policymakers, social scientists, and professionals. Teaching is a rewarding endeavor, one that can instill in the teacher a sense of success that pure research cannot. There is no other career that would be better suited to my characteristics, preparation, and ideals, and I am more than certain that teaching political science is a career worthy of my lifetime dedication. It is my sincere hope that my teaching will contribute to enhancing students’ understanding of our living conditions, which will facilitate the growth of global citizens and statesmen in the years to come.
